Großenhainer Land. From 2026 no new oil heating can be installed. What does that mean for the owners? What you can do now and what you should pay attention to - the SZ asked district chimney sweepers and energy consultant Edmund Gnaudschun from Zabelitz.

Mr. Gnaudschun, the oil heating ban ensures an outcry - especially in the country. How bad is it?

So I looked at the key point program for climate protection. It actually has nothing to do with what is going through the press and through the Internet. This is not a fan or rip off, but rather a gentle pressure to save energy. And we all have to do that.Oil heating in particular is simply a media excitement, I think.

OK.Then what does that mean for the citizens from your point of view?

Nothing at all.It will inevitably be more expensive to heat with oil.But not only because we have the eco-tax or CO² tax, but due to the world situation, we saw this in the drone strike in the oil refinery. The Americans also want to deliver massive gas to Europe. It is not wrong to decouple something from such strong global political influences. The state thinks of the population in the long term.

Well, they cannot escape world politics.

No, I say it using my own example.I kicked out my oil heating in 2015, I also got funding for it and now I save around thousand euros in heating costs a year.

What did you install?

A pellet heating. The pellets are stored in sacks.Finished.

But do you need more space?

About twice the volume compared to the heating oil camp, but that is feasible.I also notice it from the customers' inquiries. What is now being converted actually goes towards wood heating or heat pump.

What do you recommend especially in the Grossenhainer Land?

In the first place the pellet heating. It is inexpensive to get as little fault in terms of technology as an oil kettle and in different variants.I can fill my tank once a year or I can refill more often. You don't have a lot of operating effort.Of course, an old farmhouse and grandma lives alone, so I'm also careful with pellet heating.I would rather recommend a little gas boiler and everything is good.

What does the citizens cost a conversion to pellet heating?

„Im Dorf hat fast jeder eine Ölheizung“ | Sächsische.de

Roughly valued between 10.000 and 12.000 euros that you have to shoot, but there is between 3 via KfW funding.500 and 3.700 euros back as a pure grant. When I install a combination heater, pellet pieces, I even get the money for the pellet and piece of wood boiler, i.e. up to 7.000 euros. This is of course a gift where I get more expensive by installing an oil heating. The state does something, but of course it also includes initiative. It doesn't help to put your head in the sand. You always have to stay at the state of the art. This is nothing new.

How many people are there at all about Grossenhain who have to worry about it?

I guess 60 to 70 percent of people still have an oil heater here. You can of course exclude the city of Großenhain, which is connected to the natural gas network. But it looks very different in the districts and especially in the rural communities, so that I get on average for this percentage. In contrast, this means that almost everyone has an oil heater in the village.Or isolated liquid gas.You have to think in an entire region how to proceed.

Is liquid gas heating worth?

I would see it as the most expensive alternative, because you hang on a pretty tight chain.Sure, you can change the provider in between, but there is a bunch of regulations. For example, does the tank belong to me, is it a rental tank? You don't have a lot of scope. It is an alternative when there is little space or for older people who are unable to pay attention to the heating.80 to 90 percent of the customers who are now rebuilding, Pellet/Scheitholz combination heating. You get the boiler almost for free and only invest in the conversion for the buffer memory and pellet camp.

When do these funding programs work?

Right away. And if you don't use this, you are to blame yourself. There are now also obligations of the energy suppliers to offer their customers opportunities to heat ecologically and economically. You can also rent heating systems and pay for over 15 years over the heat price. There are quite ways that they are just not used yet.I think the large conversion boom will come in three or four years.

In a newly built house, I usually only look after the stoves anyway. Most rely on heat pumps here. The fireplace is then only comfortable. The change slowly grabs. On 23.March 2010 started with the new Federal Immission Control Protection Ordinance. Now there are also some: What is the time around?Wherever I have to say as a district chimney sweep, now it's your turn, convert people and then say: Why didn't I do that more?Such a conversion actually only leads to satisfied people.

By when does the old boiler have to get out?

This depends on the year of construction and initially only affects solid boilers. In the case of oil and gas, there is currently no obligation to tear out something. But plants from the time before 1978, which are not low temperature heaters, are now affected. But that affects the old federal states more. From the time here is hardly a heater in the east through the reward boom.

What about old GDR tiled stoves?

Yes, they are currently under fire. This primarily affects tiled stove air heaters from GDR times. They are still available here. All individual room fireplaces that were built until 1984 would have up to 31.December 2017 to be taken out of operation or have to get a fine dust filter. All tiled stoves that were built between 1985 and 1994 have time until 2020, and all until the deadline 21.March 2010 has a period of up to 31.December 2024 to prove the fine dust limit values. The problem with the GDR stoves is simply the problem, the manufacturers no longer exist. You can only have filters installed and make a measurement.I am amazed myself, our old tiled stoves from Ortrand work perfectly. With coal, they keep their values without hesitation when the tiled stoves are properly operated.

That was now a wealth of innovations.Who should you seek advice from?

Installation ban for oil heaters comes

Gas or oil heating boilers that were installed in 1991 or later may only be operated for 30 years.New oil heaters are prohibited from 2026.

From the chimney sweep and energy consultant, of course also from the solid heating engineer. All the funding measures must be stamped by an efficiency consultant who looks at the house.Because often people also start in the wrong place. It is not enough with a new boiler if the rest of the heating does not match.Adjust the radiators, check thermal insulation, check heating times, this must be considered. There is a lot to do and you can really save. But it costs first.I admit that.
